As a florist, sometimes a few select stems in a vase say as much as a floral arrangement the size of a small child.
For an event, party or wedding, it’s often about a theme across a space with in a certain or subtle way, whether the space is for hundreds of guests, or an intimate room for a handful of guests.
Dressing or styling a venue with a customers own vases allows a lovely flexibility with a choice of stems & variety of textures. A few short stemmed ‘twigs’ or select stems from the cutting garden mixed with best quality Dutch blooms suit a vintage single stem vase or crystal bowl spot on.
Low level small displays like this allow the fine detail to be enjoyed. Sometimes select stems can be greater appreciated this way & seen as something other than that ‘bush in the garden’
A classic crystal rose bowl, is perfect for subtle home styling. Roses; quite thirsty in warm homes, are enjoyed longer with their stems cut down & supported by the framework cover of the bowl.
Not always silverware, we have an array of glass vases, bottles & jars that are popular for small groupings of displays. Children’s parties suit these well, a clutch of seasonal spring flowers, ‘daisies’ or ‘daff’s punctuate a table nicely that is laid with brightly coloured tableware & party food.

Choosing & styling ‘snips’ along with flowers & foliage to suit a mood or theme are as much fun and take as much care & attention as creating any floral arrangements for events & occasions. However displayed & arranged, flowers are the important ingredient that make any occasion complete.
